    Delete Your Clips

Might want to delete your clips before you fully shutdown and remove your account from Iris. Iris Who?

How many users do you need to be viable? I have hundreds of V1 devices, but I don’t think I can wait. Are you going to offer professional monitoring? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We should perhaps explain that we have not just suddenly shown up to address the needs of 1st Generation Iris users. It is an ideal opportunity for us, and for the many Iris users looking to retain their existing, and often very large, 1st Generation systems. We have been developing our home automation system for more than two years. It’s also underpinned with decades of experience in the design and development of online systems, and high performance, mission critical, control systems. Addressing the needs of the 1st Generation Iris users is just the first stage, albeit a very important one. As can be seen from our website, and from earlier our posts on the forum last year, our system already handles the more modern HA and LL ZigBee devices, and Z-Wave devices. Our attention only shifted fully onto the 1st Generation Iris systems last year, with the news that Lowe’s was looking to sell the Iris brand. We are certainly doing our best to meet the end of March deadline, with the help of the Beta testers, but we’re also in it for the long haul.

Late, because if their product was ready now, all these people who are going with other systems would be onboard with them. When everyone uses their refund for other systems, they’re not going to put out more money for an expensive cobbled together hub just to use old sensors. Just my opinion...... New Gear Thanks to Iris

I'm really liking all these outlet mount options with cord keepers. Nice clean install. Iris Who?

They already are. They need to have a viable product today, not a closed beta supporting only v1 devices. IMO, their best bet is to abandon the hub concept and release the “hub” as a bridge to other home automation platforms.

I think systronics is going to be late to the party! They’re going to be left with a bunch of beta testers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Took the Vera plunge

Installed 1 controller and 1 Philio contact sensor. (And I didn't have to be within 5? feet of the hub like IRIS). Got signed up online, entered the UI7 interface, paired the sensor, and it's sending emails and texts to me. Pretty basic stuff. Has 4 modes vs Iris 2 modes (full/partial), so a little more options in that regard. I have other cameras, so no need to add to this system. Probably run dual mode until IRIS dies or this system proves just as dependable.

https://www.wkyt.com/content/news/CUTE-VIDEO-Child-uses-doorbell-to-call-dad-at-work-when-he-needs-help-with-TV-506215241.html?fbclid=IwAR08HLDNnZLIkAJSyhPmbFLGHdlB6t8G-KkVJSkMLCsZTnLt6N75cuWAORw HASLETT, MI (WCSC) - A Michigan child called his dad from the family’s doorbell to ask an important question: “How do you turn on the kids channel?” A Michigan boy called his dad using the Ring doorbell to ask how to watch the kid's channel on TV. (Source: Ring.com) The video was recorded in Haslett, Michigan back in November, according to Ring spokesperson Savannah Bigley. The video, provided by Ring.com, shows the young boy on the front porch of the home talking to his father through the Ring app, which allows a homeowner to see and talk with whoever rings the doorbell. The father asks where his mother is, and the boy points to a house across the street. “I wanted to go home and she said I could come here and turn on the kids channel,” the boy says. His dad tells him he thinks the kids channel is on Channel 25, but there’s another problem. “I don’t know what 25 looks like,” the boy says. His dad chuckles while his son kisses the camera. “Get the remote for the TV and press the number 2 and the number 5 and point it at the TV. That should work for you,” he says. He gives one more kiss through the screen before heading inside. *********************************************************************************************************************************************** I am not saying I am going ring but this is too funny.

    My .02

I too figured that since IRIS recommended SmartThings, I would go along. I am so disappointed with Lowes for doing this. My situation is that I have a rental on Airbnb. IRIS was great in that I could change the codes on my programmable Schlage door locks with the IRIS app. I have paired my first lock successfilly. However, in the SmartThings app, there is no way I could find to change, nor add, the lock codes. Am I missing something? Another disappointment with SmartThings is that I have to physically take the hub to within 10 feet of the device in order to add anything. If this thing is supposed to communicate with everything in the houses from one central location, why do I have to take it to within 10 feet to pair? Seems a bit ridiculous.

    Keen Home Smart Vent Q&A

Keen Home sucks. Make promises even the top founders and they dont either. Keen vent is useless as well. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
