    That would explain why my Gen1 outdoor camera went to S#!T the other day. I have been using it to monitor a squirrel that has been in and out of my attic and noticed Friday that the motion is crap on it now.

    Iris V2 camera light

    I have not seen this until today when I installed a camera on my garage after I moved; a red led. I had to extend my camera power wire because it wouldn’t reach the outlet and I used some solid wire for a garage door opener because it looks about the same diameter. When the camera is powering up there is a bright red LED in the bottom left corner that comes on for a little bit then goes out. This isn’t the IR LED’s but a single one in the bottom left. Anyone know what this means? I have looked it op online and can’t find anything. Thanks in advance.

    Exactly, that is why I was asking here. I might get some larger wire and re-run it today to see if the issue goes away. I will post a pic of it, as I didn't know there was a LED on the front, and let y'all know if this fixes it.

    Yeah, I know they make the extension cables but they don't sell them in the store and this was a free option. I extended an outside V1 camera a long time ago through the attic with two 18awg wires and it worked for years. Yeah I am sure that I didn't reverse the polarity I was an installer for several years and been in electronics all my life so that I know is correct . Also that was the first thing I checked when I saw the red light come on, it just comes on for several seconds after plugging it in but doesn't do it on other cameras. If I had to make a guess it would be that the garage door wire might not be large enough for adding length, but the camera functions fine. The garage wire had the same gray stripe as the Iris power cable so it was easy to match. Thanks for the reply.

    Noticed today that on the Official Iris Website, you can go to the devices list, click the three dots on your hub where it opens the hub info screen, and it shows "reboot hub" now.

    True, didn't think about the "panic" aspect of it, that makes sense. I guess I am just used to false alarms where the wife/kids forget to disarm the alarm before letting the dog out, etc.

    My problem with that is they dispatched the police to your house before calling to make sure everything was OK. My wife set off our CPI system when she took an unhumanly hot shower and opened the bathroom door to the hallway before the vanity side and the steam set the fire alarm off. They called to make sure everything was ok before dispatching the fire out. The police departments around here charge for false calls from alarm systems, etc.

    Saw these advertised, looks pretty sweet. Hope that Iris supports this one, should, it’s z-wave plus so it does OTA updates if Iris ever decides to do them.

    Alarm Not Sounding Correctly

    Anyone else having an issue where their alarm just beeps a few times when it goes off and stops? I have all the things turned on that should be and haven't changed anything but when the alarm goes off all it does is beep like it does when arming, and that is it. Anyone else?

    Anyone else's TapTalk not working now with the forum? I open it and it asks me to login after it says it can't find blah blah on the forum. I try to log back in with the app and get this: (see attached) any ideas? I have removed the forum off it and added it back.

    Osram bulb experience?

    What I usually do/did is leave the bulb connected in Iris, do a factory reset on the bulb which breaks it's pairing internally, pair it to the OSRAM/Smartthings hub, do the update, remove the bulb from the other hub(s) and the bulb will flash showing it was unpaired. Then I go back into Iris and go through the steps like I am adding a device, the hub will beep but nothing will show up on the screen, the bulb will flash and it is installed back without having to go back in on Iris and setup all your rules/scenes/etc for that device.

    You could also install a motion or contact sensor to turn the bulbs on for X amount of time. I have a contact on our laundry room door (outside in carport) so the wife opens the door and the light turns on. I also have a motion in there in case she is in there longer than the contact sensor energy timer. Been working great for years.

    New to Iris, but not happy

    No it isn’t common. Make sure your hub isn’t around anything metal as it will interrupt the signal and make sure you pair new devices within 10 feet of the hub so they pair correctly. I am in the process of moving and I put my networking gear near the hub and it threw my system all out of wack. I had to move it two shelves up from the equipment to get my disconnected devices connect again.

    Yes the hub is required to update the firmware on the bulbs and it sounds like that is the problem. I know when I first got all mine they were horrible turning on by themselves and all that mess. I bought the hub and updated them and they have been solid ever since. Also if you have a SmartThings hub laying around (I have one for a laundry script) they update the bulbs also. I don’t know why Iris isn’t updating the firmware OTA, especially since it will fix so many problems and would reduce calls about them.

    I was talking with support the other day about my hose controller having phantom schedules on it and they did mention this one and said they are working on several issues with this controller.     ARM NOW seemed to disappear with the latest upgrade

    Makes me wonder if this is their work around for the keypads not making clicking sounds if you turn off arming sounds. The only reason I have arming sounds on is the keys will stop clicking after a few hours if it is off. It has been brought up several times on both forums, sad if this is how they are fixing their botched firmware update on the V2 keypad. “Ignores the silence when arming toggle” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
