    Iris 3.0 (Yes, it exists)

I hope you're right about not having to upgrade to the new hub. Glad to hear that the migration went well. Maybe over time I'll take a good look at the new hub decide to upgrade. Meanwhile, all of the bugs can be worked out. I'm amazed that Lowes has continued this platform for so long. There is a lot of competition out there and I can't imagine that Lowes sells that many systems.

    Iris 3.0 (Yes, it exists)

Hi. I haven't been on this forum for a couple of years, since everything has been working well enough... I'm bummed out that it appears we need to move to yet another hub. I am away from my house for long periods of time and I can't babysit a new hub and any bugs that might appear. Reliability is very important. I suppose it's too early for anyone to know the answer to my question but - I wonder how long it will be before migration to the new hub is mandatory? I'm hoping that I have 'til June to make the transition. Any thoughts on this?

How many thermostats can the system (V2) support?

Thanks everyone for your input. Lately, with the 4 I have, things have been running smoothly. I often instruct Alexa (Echo Dot) to set the temperature. If I change it manually on the thermostat, it changes in the app ok. I did have the problem you mentioned at one point but I don't think I've seen it since v2.
  4. Believe it or not, my old (ca. 1900) house has 6 heating zones. So far I have 4 of the CT-101-L Radio-thermostats. They work fine. These thermostats keep going down in price. They started at $99, then they went down to $89. And now they are $76.49. So I'm thinking about getting 2 more to finish out the installation. Does anyone know if there an upper limit on the number of thermostats with one hub? Can the system handle 6 thermostats? Thanks

    System Down?

I agree. It's all about planning and knowing ahead of time about an outage.

    System Down?

I was also caught unaware. I changed out my router a couple of days ago, so I figured the problem (of no hub connectivity) was at my end. I ended up resetting the hub. Hope I didn't mess up whatever update was happening. I checked here and, at the time no one was talking about it. LOWES NEEDS TO ANNOUNCE THIS STUFF AHEAD OF TIME AND INCLUDE EMAILS, AHEAD OF TIME, TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. This is the second recent event in which there was a known outage that I was not informed about. Putting an announcement on the IRIS website is not sufficient because who checks there? ADVANCE WARNING PLEASE!!

Anyone else having issues around 4 pm Eastern?

I called Customer Service earlier this afternoon. There was NO wait. The woman I spoke to was incredible. She indicated that only about 5% of customers had a problem. She walked me through removing and re-adding my 2 thermostats. All is good now. She indicated that they had just finished up their fixes and my call was well timed (in terms of being able to re-add devices). She confirmed that everything is stored with them and not saved locally. I have to say this is the second (or third) time that I've ever called customer service and they've gotten everything straightened out in short order. For whatever it's worth, I've had very good experiences with customer service. Hopefully, we'll get back on an uneventful, even keel...

The two thermostats that disappeared and then reappeared are both wonky. One thermostat (Kitchen) responds, but has quite a delay. The other thermostat (Dining room) intermittently says it's disconnected and is completely unresponsive. I guess I'll be calling customer service.

Okay, we're making progress. Everything that was missing (2 thermostats and 2 smartplugs) is back on my dashboard... The smart plugs appear to be working. The thermostats seem to be intermittently responsive. I was able to change the temperature once on one of the thermostats, but then it stopped responding. The other thermostat doesn't want to respond.

Things are the same at this time as they were a couple of days ago. Two thermostats and a smart plug missing from Dashboard. I'm hoping that IRIS is working weekends to finish clearing this up. I did get a notification email but it wasn't until Friday at 2 pm. I had no idea that this problem was with the system server. I thought my system was just wonky. In my efforts to fix the problem at my end - I did "rebuild the z-wave network" and I tried to re-pair one of my thermostats. Neither of these things helped. If they had immediately put out a notice that there were problems, I wouldn't have started to monkey around.

I was going to post a status update around the recent problem with the IRIS servers but the thread seems to have disappeared! Can anyone say where this thread went? I am still missing 2 smartplugs and 2 thermostats on my dashboard. Would this be the time to try to call customer service? Or are they swamped? Thanks

The 3 things I lost (2 [of 4] thermostats and one smart plug) still don't show up on my dashboard BUT I FOUND THEM ON MY DEVICE LIST!! How do I get them from my device list back to the dashboard? Thanks for any assistance with this...

Ok, glad to hear that somehow you were not affected. Congratulations. Maybe not ALL people were affected. But a significant number of people are currently having problems. That is sufficient for people to complain and for Lowes to fix this problem.
