Hose end controller woes and dead chickens

I could not find a way to determine the firmware. When I called support, they had me repeat the same recipe. Finally I sent a private message to irisbylowes and gave my name and hub ID. A day later, I had a message that they were working on it. They did some magic and now it works! I would highly suggest sending the PM to irisbylows.

Hose end controller woes and dead chickens

I sent a PM to Irisbylowes. He was able to resolve the issue. To answer Otto's question, I unpaired it using the iOS app. Then I reset the device by pushing the reset button 5 times. Then I pulled the batteries for a few hours.

Hose end controller woes and dead chickens

This controller worked correctly in v1 so I don't think it is the controller. I was pairing the controller about 3 feet from the hub. I'll try to do it closer and I will keep the chicken out of it.

Thanks. That is the advice that support has given me and I have done all of that a few times already. After it pairs, I have left it by the hub to complete the cycle. On a few of the pairings, the hub did control the hose controller. It just had the wrong time and date and I don't think that history was recorded other than the initial pairing. Currently it is "paired", but I am unable to control the device.

yes. It has the current version number.
  9. I have been battling the 1:00 issue with my hose end controller. Background: The controller was migrated to v2 and was recognized but the time has not been accurate. The device has been removed from the hub, reset, had batteries removed in different orders and durations. Iris support has removed the "unknown device" several times. There have been times when the device responded to the app but history is not being written in the log. Currently, the app sees the device but I can not control it. I have talked to support several times and they give me the same things to try. Once completed, I am told that the time will sync within 24 hours. I even waived a dead chicken over the device and the hub. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Wireless Light Switch (Hue)

Is there any way to get a wireless light switch from iris or can you make the Philips Hue Swich work with Iris? The only solution that I have found is to use the smart button. These do not look good. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B014H2OYVW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1454244490&sr=8-1π=SY200_QL40&keywords=philips+hue+switch&dpPl=1&dpID=31L-jfGIBNL&ref=plSrch

    Wireless light switch

I would like a switch that looks like a real light switch but is not directly wired to anything. X10 had these years ago.
