    Stelpro Baseboard Thermostat

Just as an FYI in case anyone is interested in an inline voltage baseboard heating thermostat, I have solved my issue by spending the time to break open the Smartthings box and set the hub up. Paired the thermostat with zero problems and it works pretty darn well (both the SmartThings Hub and the thermostat). Not making this an “Iris vs Smartthings” thread. But if you have these types of heaters and would like to control them remotely, I can confirm that they do not work with Iris, but work great on the Smartthings platform. I’m now pretty interested to play with both platforms side by side for a bit to compare.
  2. Picked up a Stelpro KI STZW402WB+ Thermostat for my baseboard heaters in the garage. Device pairs easily.....but just shows up at “New Device”. Anyone tried one of these or have any ideas? Have put the hub right beside it but same result.

Do I need a new Hub???

All of what you just posted is exactly the situation I have. Had about a 2 month period where everything worked great.....then an update was run and back to the problems. I am not buying any more Z-Wave products until this isn't happening. It's pretty frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    8 July Update Killed Z-Wave

I normally have z-wave issues after an update but the latest one went great and I haven't had so much as a hiccup with them this time. Hopefully things settle for you. I didn't realize that the smart plugs needed to be within 5 feet for the z-wave radio to connect to the network the first time. I have certainly not done this correctly on several of my plugs as the Zigbee stuff seems to pair from pretty much anywhere. Good info!

Ok, I said I'd report back so here goes... I found multiple devices listed in my profile under the Settings menu item. I deleted all of them, deleted the app from the phone (I'm not sure this really had anything to do with fixing the issue), and re-installed and logged back into the app. I made sure the app was set to allow notifications (iOS) and waited. About an hour later, notifications began rolling in again. I'm not sure exactly what the magic was, but I suspect it was deleting the devices listed for notifications and logging back into the app. Good Luck!

I am having the same trouble with two different systems not sending notifications (or it is sending and my phone isn't receiving). If I get it figured out I'll let you know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Update, New Disconnects

Will do that if it doesn't settle. Appreciate your input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Update, New Disconnects

They don't respond to commands when they show connected. Once I send a command to switch on or off and they fail, they will then appear as disconnected. And I have done a reset. Same result. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Update, New Disconnects

I don't disagree scunnyngham but it truly happens each time an update is pushed. I know it will settle, but in the meantime nearly all of my z-wave stuff will be useless until it does. It's weird. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Update, New Disconnects

My system was running almost completely trouble-free. But just like every other update, when the latest one rolled out my z-wave devices started back with disconnecting and reconnecting. If things roll as they have been doing, this will continue for a couple of weeks until it settles down. I am at a loss as to why these updates cause this but it is not a coincidence as it happens with every single update. Am I the only one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First gen key fob - unlock front door?

Unless I'm missing it, you won't be able to unlock a door with a button on a V2 fob either. I want to do the same with mine too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Unknown Device 1 bug

What operating system are you on? If you are on iOS, you won't be able to remove the device yourself. On Android you can. If you are on iOS, download an Android emulator (I am using one called BlueStacks) and you can run that operating system on your windows computer so you can remove those devices yourself. I just installed a Schlage lever lock yesterday and had to do this several times. If I had to call support every time it would have taken me a week to get it done. The team REALLY needs to get this added to the iOS platform. Edited to add: you may need to reset your contact sensor also. Remove the device from your system, reset the sensor, to a two-second reset of your hub, then try to pair again. Sometimes I have found that devices take two or three (or more) times attempting to pair before success is reached.

    Hub offline causes?

What is your hub connected to? Is it connected directly to your router or is it going through a switch?
