  1. You sir, are correct. I was able to do more troubleshooting when I got home from work and found that switch in my app (Android) had been moved to the "on" position. It took me a bit to find the setting since I haven't adjusted it in a year. I really hope Iris can avoid changing our settings in future updates. On a side note, I noted that the hub and/or keypad was also sounding during last night's alarm. I can't recall if that always happens or is it because the alarm sounds switch was switched to the "on" position? I don't get many alarms.
  2. Hello, My Iris system has been working well... until last night around 2 am. I have a leak detector in my sump and if the water level gets too high, Iris sends me an email. This has worked fine in the past but it's been nearly a year since it was activated. Last night some water splashed on the sensor but Iris decided that an email wasn't enough and tripped my siren. My dogs were really excited but my wife and I were less than thrilled. ;-) So, I'm still trying to figure out why the siren was activated. Any ideas? Thanks
  3. Keypad battery life

    Thanks, rclark… I'll give that a try.
  4. Keypad battery life

I've read other posts regarding the keypad batteries having a short life span. Has anybody with this issue found a solution? I rarely use my keypad and the batteries only last a couple months.
  5. Outdoor lights

I'm happy to report that the new motion sensor light solved the problem. I can manually override the motion sensor via the app by turning power off and then on again. It worked 4 out of 5 times so I'm guessing that when it doesn't work it's due to a delay in the command being sent. Thanks for all your help!
  6. Outdoor lights

Well, I just got back from Lowe's with a new motion sensor that specifically states that it has override from the switch. If this doesn't work I'm out of luck… I guess. Yes, cellular backup needs to work when power goes out or it's not very useful.
  7. Outdoor lights

I wouldn't mind spending 30 bucks on another motion sensor but I'm currently using the free Iris. I don't think I can turn on a light with a motion sensor without rules. When Iris is made more reliable and works offline, I may opt for a monthly fee.
  8. Outdoor lights

Yes, I need the motion sensor. Maybe I'll try a new light fixture. The current one is really old. It's an X10 fixture that functions as a regular motion sensor light when not working with an X10 system.
  9. Outdoor lights

Terminal - That's exactly what I thought. Weird. scunny - Yep, it works just like it did with the original switch... except for manual override. I hope there's a solution because using a z-wave switch seems like a better way to go versus z-wave/zigbee lights.
  10. Outdoor lights

No, but it did with the old switch.
  11. Outdoor lights

So, I installed the GE switch referenced earlier in this thread. It was an easy install and paired quickly. Unfortunately, it's not working how I'd hoped. This replaced a switch that controls a flood light with a motion sensor. It's usually left in the 'ON' position. However, if I want the light on without motion, I turn the switch off and on within a second or so, the light will stay on, and this overrides motion detection. I'd hoped to be able to do this remotely via the Iris app but switching off/on doesn't activate the light. Anyone know if this is possible? Maybe a different light?
  12. Outdoor lights

I ordered one of these: http://m.lowes.com/pd/GE-Z-Wave-White-Wireless-Toggle-On-Off-Light-Switch/999911945 The internal dimensions appear to be a bit smaller than the rocker style (depending where I read the specs). Also, the switch I'm replacing is a toggle style. Did I make the right call?
  13. Outdoor lights

Thanks a lot for all the recommendations! I'm liking the wall switch idea. Half of my outdoor security lights can be controlled from indoor wall switches. They are much closer to the hub which should make them more reliable than using outdoor light bulbs.
  14. Outdoor lights

I'd like to replace some of my outdoor flood lights and spot lights with Iris compatible lights. Any recommendations? Thanks
  15. Iris+ For Gen 2 - Alternative Android Application

Iris+ not working for me. When I go to dashboard a message says it's updating but nothing is displayed on my dashboard. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4 and tried rebooting. I checked my password and verified that the Lowes Iris app works. Any ideas?
