I guess it's good we got paid out before other systems got v1 devices supported.

You'll have to flash the firmware of the cameras to the https://openip.cam/ firmware.  Once you've done that, you can get a RTSP stream.  Also, the WYZE cams do work with TinyCam on Android and Fire TV.  I think there is an IOS version, but not sure.

When it comes to IP cameras, bitrate is everything.  Doesn't matter how great the camera is, if it cant send the video stream to the recording thing with a high enough bitrate, you'll get garbage.
Some cameras cant do it due to hardware limitations and others have issues due to network problems.
Here is a write up about it:

I called to get redemption for my orbit water timer and a contact sensor.  Was about a 30 min call.  No issues, but the lady did have to get approval.
    Orbit water timer - $40
    Contact sensor - $23
I have a water heater module, but she told me it was compatible with another system.  I didnt think it would be, so that's good.  Idk what system.  I also thought the orbit timer was $130, not $40. I'll take it.  I'm still going to come out ahead.
Be mindful when you call that these people dont control Iris and they are losing their jobs.  I'm just having to redo a system, not job search.
I'm probably going to go with Hubitat, it seems like the best for me.

I think Iris is going to take some lumps with their new forum. I've already seem where they don't want to post devices that work with Iris. They do seem to be active on tbe forum, so that's a big improvement, but this forum still has use for the topics lowes doesn't agree with.

I learned something else.  The slide switch on the bottom of the switch is the Air Gap switch.  I didn't know what that was.  I just thought it was a way to cut the light on and off.  It may not have paired very well cause I kept flipping that thing back and forth a bunch of times.  I'll troubleshoot it more when I get home.  It was kinda late when I finished last night.  The wife is getting annoyed the chandelier isn't working.

No, it has 16 candlebre bulbs. But it was running on the old dimmer before I switched them out.

Ok, I exchanged an old range extender for a smart plug and put it in my weather proof box and almost instantly my mailbox motion sensor reconnected. Cool.

sptrr99 got a reaction from sparc in Cortana, Google Home and IFTTT
Now that IRIS has shown that they can have integration with Amazon Echo\Alexa, should we expect other services too?  I've started looking at what some of the other things can do and it has me wondering, do I really need IRIS?  It seems that Echo and IFTTT will combine several stand alone services under one umbrella.  I'm wondering if I should be tied down to just one thing or not.  Right now, if it doesn't work with IRIS, I can't have it.  That's starting to be less fun.  I have an Xbox One with Cortana and it's worlds better than the previous voice system Xbox had, which didn't work at all.  I was really wanting to get an Echo, but I was thinking, I already have an Xbox with Cortana that I have my TV running through it.  How can I use that more.

Why has IRIS not moved IFTTT into their focus?  It seems that using a proven service like that would help them out a lot.  I could get a Harmony Hub too and have it control things that IRIS would never control, like TV's, cable Boxes, Etc.  Also, Google Home is coming out, I wonder if there will be any support there either.  Cortana has been out a while, but we'd not heard anything as far a support for it.

I'd not really looked much past IRIS until recently and started to ask myself why am I limiting myself so much.  I think i'm going to swap all my V1 gear out for V2 gear and make sure that I can switch to something else.  I like IRIS, but I'm not sure the development is on the right path and the continued lack of communication from IRIS is a bad thing.

    Just some thoughts.

Yeah, that's my issue with the Tap as well. If I have to press a button, might as well use the apps on my phone. The Dot is where it's at.

I used the garage door opener to open my sliding gate.  I put the GDO in a weatherproof box and ran the wires to my gate motor.  I even rigged up a system using a door hinge with the tilt sensor.  When the gate slides, the hinge and the sensor slide back with the gate and will hit a bar that I put towards the back of the gate and it will raise the hinge and the sensor to put the tilt sensor in the open position.  If you want more info, i can post a picture or add more details.

It would be nice whenever they can get to it, a widget for android phones.  I would like to have a button widget on my phone that I can hit that would do whatever I would assign to it.  Garage Door opener would be nice.  The app loads fairly fast, but it would be great if I could just tap a button on my homescreen and the door would open, or alarm disarm or set.

    Anyway, that's my request.

After living with it a day, i can say the biggest issue is no web interface.  The app is good for looking at stuff and turning stuff on or off, but it's awful on trying to configure this system.  Even using bluestacks doesn't help that much, it's just hard to navigate.  I do know that had I not been reading this forum ahead of time, i'd be lost on where to find various features.

It's been 3.5 months since the first list, and over 2 since the second.  What are the odds they have a second June release up their sleeve?  Looks like they are a long way from their own expectations.

EDIT: Updated with the items Otto listed as done below.

If this is the June release, it appears there will be nothing close to parity before the death of v1.  While I like the adding of people and places, it wasn't near the top of my list for what is needed.  Good for the people that needed it though.

I'm guessing this person is probably hamstrung by Lowes on what they can actually say or do.  Probably not that persons fault.  But if I were them, I'd raise hell about how pissed the user base is and more communication would be better.
