  1. Platform Update 11-17-2016

I'm in NC and I haven't really noticed any changes to the app design. I've been having trouble with Alexa+Iris integration the past couple of days, but that may be a different issue. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  2. Iris+ For Gen 2 - Alternative Android Application

I bought the paid version a couple of days ago, primarily for the geolocation feature. I'm still unable to make it work. I've fine what you suggested in the post above... What am I missing? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  3. Iris+ For Gen 2 - Alternative Android Application

Is this functionality available in the original Iris app?
  4. I agree with vettester. My lights work just fine with Iris, Alexa just made it fun Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  5. Cellular backup must be right around the corner

I'm a V2 user. Never had the V1 setup. How much did y'all pay for the old dongle?Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  6. Still no local Processing

Isn't it safe to assume that if you can turn lights ON/OFF, then you should be able to Arm/Disarm your security (using keypad and fob). Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

  8. Cellular backup must be right around the corner

Thanks for clarifying Otto. I'm hoping that when Iris rolls out their professional monitoring plan, they include the data stick as part of it without making people buy it. I would definitely see value in enforcing a cellular backup if people are interested in professional monitoring. Lots of whens and ifs there. Any thoughts? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  9. Cellular backup must be right around the corner

I have a Big Red MiFi dongle, which has been inactive for a while, and would love to get that reactivated to see if it will work, instead of investing a 100 bux in a dongle, ya know. I saw on Verizon's website that they have discontinued the dongle I have, but all their new dongle's are "no purchase" items. I doubt you can buy this from Amazon. Wouldn't it be a different model too if it is an Iris-only USB stick? If not, I would buy it on Amazon. Even better, I would use a dongle that I won't have to buy (see above) Forgive me guys, but I'm a total noob with anything related to networking.

To get started and add Backup Cellular to your Iris smart home security system, register for the service plan here for just $7.99/month. Once you have completed your cellular registration, proceed to purchase and setup the Iris-certified 4G Cellular Modem.* Requirements for Iris 4G Backup Cellular: - Iris 4G USB modem (Item #805281) - Next Gen Iris Smart Hub - Most up to date version of Iris iOS/Android App - 4G Backup Cellular Service Plan ($7.99/month) http://support.irisbylowes.com/ics/support/kbanswer.asp?deptID=30206&task=knowledge&questionID=825&languageID=

The link Otto provided doesn't say that. Neither does the announcement made by Lowe's. http://support.irisbylowes.com/ics/support/kbanswer.asp?deptID=30206&task=knowledge&questionID=825&languageID= Some clarity would certainly put a lot of minds to rest.
  13. IRIS Privacy Statement & Geo-fencing

If Iris plans to roll out geofencing, I would sign the privacy statement with my eyes shut. Or I would just wait for people to discuss the statement here on the forum
  14. Cellular backup must be right around the corner

I am super happy that cellular backup is on its way. Shelling out $109 for it upfront, is a bit hard to swallow though. I mean, having a monthly fee is acceptable (I will definitely opt for professional monitoring though - just makes more sense ya know), but having to "buy" a modem that will work only on Iris, now that I cannot justify.
  15. Iris Speed

I run both Scenes and Rules. I have a GDO and a handful of Osram lamps, in addition to the regular Iris stuff. I am on V#.074. I haven't been noticing any lags (fingers crossed)
