    Alarm Not Sounding Correctly

Anyone else having an issue where their alarm just beeps a few times when it goes off and stops? I have all the things turned on that should be and haven't changed anything but when the alarm goes off all it does is beep like it does when arming, and that is it. Anyone else?
  2. So today my system decided to randomly arm itself. I use no key fobs. There was nothing going on at the time this happened. Nobody was using the app. I did hear the chime from the gen 1 keypad when the arming took place, but dismissed it as maybe a door sensor misreading. Since I wasn't aware the system had decided to arm itself, I inadvertently triggered an alarm after opening a door. Interestingly, the history shows the alarm being triggered and the subsequent cancellation, but does not show the self-arming that took place. I have a rule that arms the system at night and disarms it in the morning, but this self-arming took place around noon. Anybody else experience this issue?
  3. So I have a question for anyone with with pets and the new alarm requirements 4/2017. In my previous setup I had contact and glass break sensors and such on doors and windows and just one motion sensor(small open floor plan house). In the previous setup I could set it to all devices but require 2 activation's and any of the contacts + the motion sensor set the alarm off. This worked well as I could have a good alarm system but wouldn't set off for my indoor pets. With the new system it appears I can no longer use my motion sensor in my alarm scheme as it will always activate. Plus looking at the 5 minute rule if I got two or more sensors and set them up id still be in a mess if I set it to two as they have a 5 min separation and if the pet walked the whole house in less than 5 minutes it would go off. Is there any way to set up with motion sensors and contact sensors in the new system with indoor pets without having to have every single room in the house on a separate motion sensors and requiring many items to be tripped to set the alarm off? Thanks for any assistance.

    Reset Alarm?

I have the V2 hub. Does anyone know if their is a way to have the alarm reset after 5 minutes? V1 hub had those features and would be nice to know that the alarm will reset once it was triggered after 5 minutes.

    V1 Alarm"ghost" change

Tonight at 7:53, I heard the keypad chime strangely, then signal the triple beep like someone had walked in. Not the case. After checking the house, I checked IRIS. IRIS History records that I set the Home Mode to NIGHT "on the IRIS website", and in the same minute, set it back to HOME; then it had this entry: "Alarm set to OFF -- Intruder Alarm set to OFF automatically." But I hadn't touched my web app or my phone. Did anyone else get a strange server signal that reset their HOME MODE or their ALARM? Has this happened to anyone before?

    Alarm Mode Changing By Itself

My hub will randomly switch out of night mode to home and then back. This happens every few weeks and usually gives me a heart attack because my hub is in my bedroom and she decides to start talking at 4 in the morning. Recently, the mode has been switching more and this weekend I was out of town and the alarm switched modes and turned itself off! This is a real problem because I don't want the alarm just randomly deciding it's not going to work. Any thoughts?
  7. I bought the Iris Safe & Secure system about 1.5 years ago. I have 3 door/window sensors on my doors, and 3 motion sensors. I have way too many windows to put a door/window sensor everywhere, so I bought some motion sensors. I have three. One in the basement, one in the front of the house, and one in the back of the house. I had to take the basement sensor offline; I started getting false alarms. It was pointing at a blank wall across a hallway. Not sure what was causing the false alarms...thought maybe it was temperature variation? Anyway, recently my motion sensor in the front of the house has been causing false alarms. It's strange because for the first year or so it never really gave me any issues...for the past 6 months it's been tripping weekly. It's getting old being awakened by the alarm going off in the middle of the night, the kids waking up, etc. So now I'm at the point where I have an almost worthless security system. The contact sensors are great, but I don't think they really protect me from vulnerabilities in the layout of my house. That's why I need coverage from the motion sensors. To try to resolve the motion sensor issues, I've changed my setting for "Number of devices required to set off alarm" from 1 to 2 sensors now. So now I have two motion sensors, side by side, covering one area. My thought is that if there's some issue with the sensor that's causing the trip, and not actually motion, then by requiring two sensors to sense the motion it should eliminate false alarms. Of course this renders my contact sensors useless...someone could break my front door in and the alarm would never go off. I would now have to have two contact sensors on each door to actually use the sensors as true contact sensors. I'm frustrated...but happier to have motion sensor coverage compared to contact sensors, if I have to choose between the two. Is anyone else requiring two devices to sett of the alarm? Does anyone have any advice on how to get around the seemingly high probability of false alarms with the Iris motion sensors? I'm 1 week in with no false alarms so far....we'll see if it works. Thanks.
