dave19661 1 Report post Posted June 4, 2017 I would really like to be able to control a window air conditioner using Iris. My first thought was a manually controlled air conditioner with a smart plug using my Iris thermostat and rules / scenes to regulate temperature. However, I can't seem to find a manually controlled unit large enough to cool the room I need it for.

I have one of these (I'm pretty sure this is the model I have) and it works fine on a V1 smartplug in my garage.https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frigidaire-11000-BTU-500-sq-ft-115-Volt-Window-Air-Conditioner-with-Heater/50342326 When you turn the smart plug back on it comes right back on at the temperature it was previously set at. If you need a 230v unit, you could use one of these and wire up the appropriate recepticle to it:https://www.amazon.com/GE-Appliance-Direct-Wire-Appliances-12726/dp/B00YTCZZF0 I have also seen some higher-end GE units where you can actually attach a wall thermostat to it. 1 dave19661 reacted to this
