Otto Mation reacted to sparc in New Ring Devices
Found this YT video that shows off a bunch of new Alexa products coming soon. It also shows three new Ring devices.
The link here is cued to the segment on the new ring devices, but the whole video is worth watching, if only to keep abreat of how invasive these types of devices are becoming.

Sparc, you should really take a look at Hubitat.  You could use your Iris V1 gear and not have to deal with all of those Smatthings outages.  With Hubitat everything is local.

In my experience, the original Schlage locks (e.g. the BE469) aren't very reliable. In my Arcus test environment, I have a BE469 a few feet away from the hub and it's almost flawless, but if you take it say 25ft away, you'd be lucky to get events about the door being unlocked or locked. You can try all sorts of range extenders (I personally use the Ring Range Extender with Arcus, as it has a built in backup battery, but really any mains powered Z-Wave device will work), but I've not had great luck with those and the BE469. Upgrading to the BE469ZP (Z-Wave Plus model) fixes all the issues I've seen with these locks. If you don't want to spend a bunch of money, you can watch eBay for partial / broken locks, and switch out the circuit board.

I just switched to Hubitat, I finally gave up on Systronic.  I thought I had read that HE supported the V1 keypads but sadly no, everything else worked so not a deal breaker.
I am not 100% sold on the V1 device support on Hubitat though.   I was at first, as all my devices migrated over with not a single hiccup.  About 2 weeks in though all my V1 devices stopped talking.  I had to reset and re-pair almost every one of them. Then I had to go back and update all my rules. Luckily I only use the V1 devices in my shop so it's not huge deal. It may have just been a bad device that corrupted the Zigbee mesh.
I am still sold on the Hubitat platform, however, as I have started migrating my ST hub over to HE.  I have most of my automations in ST on webcore, and webcore runs on the HE hub.  So I was able to migrate all my pistons over from ST and they run pretty as is on HE.  Apparently they frown upon using webcore on the HE hub but I have seen no down side yet.  I did move a good portion of my simpler automations to rule machne.  RM took some getting used to.  I am starting to get the hang of it now though and it's not too bad.  Webcore is far superior IMO, but RM is okay.
Using the Hubconnect app I can even tie in a couple of the integrations on my ST hub that HE doesn't support.  Mainly my Leviosa shades and Arlo cameras.  .  I had hoped to use some of my spare V1 stuff to fill in some gaps, adding in some additional motion and contact sensors.  Cheaper than having to buy new stuff.  Until I see how the shop holds up I will keep my House hub V1 free I think.

Yes, they do. They've unlocked some capabilities that weren't available in Iris.

Unfortunately I got the answer I was expecting. So sad, too bad. Oh well my fault.  (Amazon required the expiration date BTW)
Still a winner, caused me to get off my butt and get Hubitat.

I bought 5 of the Samsung sensors, wish I had got double that. I deployed the 5 I had in addition to the 4 I already have in the system. They are much nicer than the Centralite  which Lowes rebranded and sold under the Iris name.
The contacts on the top and perfect for soldering leads to and adapting them to serve some other purpose. The price is right at ~$18.
I will get some more. I can see using one to connect to a glass breakage detector from my old hard-wired alarm system on the slider and a couple other applications.

Is your question directed at me? If so the alerts I am seeing are not from Xfinity, I don't use any Xfinity supplied hardware. The firewall in my router catches them and emails me a report every day with the IP number of the attacker, the date/time, and type of attack (DoS, Port Scan, etc).

I rolled mine into a couple Festool tools last Fall.
Didn't take long to use them up at Woodcraft, no leftovers here. 🙂

I have mostly SmartThings and PEQ which are the same.  I like the ones that Scunny referenced and have a few.  They catch drips on top and leaks on bottom.

Not to worry Sparc, It'll pair right up.  It's just a Z-Wave switch and will be seen as such.  Additionally, it measures energy usage and you will be able to see that.  Just to be clear with the sprinkler system to drain the tank, there is no need to use a currently unused zone.  In fact you want to use a zone that is connected.  Pick one that has bubblers or a zone that doesn't require a lot of pressure to open up to drain the tank.  It will show up as a switch in SmartThings and you just turn it on for 10 or 15 minutes and then turn it off.  The water will run into the yard or garden and not the house.  My current rule is in Hubitat which uses a rule maker and looks different but you can accomplish the same thing in SmartThings.  I will post a screen shot of it below so that you can use it to help you construct your rule or rules in SmartThings.  The Leak Alexa switch just turns on an Alexa contact switch that has all of my Alexa devices announce that a leak has occurred.

And this is the rule that tells me which device started the chain reaction of events above.

I second this suggestion.  Stock up on all the batteries you will need for a while, all will be priced about as cheap as anywhere online, and when your order hits $50 you will get free shipping too.
